Memorial Gifts
Memorial gifts for loved ones, made from their handwriting, their photo or their name: to remember a mom, a dad, a grandparent or a pet, or to comfort someone who is grieving.
Something of them,to keep close.
After the loss of a mother, father or grandparent. The handwriting necklace carries their own writing, a signature or “Love, Mom” from an old card, engraved from your photo onto a ½″ or ¾″ (13 or 19 mm) disc, with up to 24 typed characters on the back. The photo locket opens to one or two photos, with up to 4 lines of 12 characters engraved on the large 1.4″ (36 mm) heart or 2 lines of 10 on the small 0.9″ (23 mm) one. The photo projection necklace hides a picture that appears when you hold it up to the light. All three come in silver tone or gold plated finishes, not solid gold or silver.
For the home. A star map night light shows the sky over a place on a date that mattered, the night they were born or the day they married, with their names (up to 28 characters) and a line of your own (up to 40).
After the loss of a dog or cat. The Rainbow Bridge suncatcher is a 4.5″ (11.4 cm) paw print with their name (up to 10 letters) cut in birch wood and an optional verse on the rim; the stained-glass-style suncatcher prints their portrait on textured glass, 4″ to 12″ (10 to 30 cm) across. The 2.5″ × 3.5″ (6.4 × 8.9 cm) framed memorial ornament holds their portrait, name and dates. For ideas on what to send and say, see our pet memorial gift guide.
The first Christmas without them. An ornament or a locket opened on Christmas morning gives the family a quiet way to include them. Each piece is made to order in 3–5 business days and checked by hand against your order; order by Sunday, November 22 for delivery to Australia before Christmas.
Good toknow.
What is an appropriate gift for someone who lost a loved one?
Something that holds a piece of the person: their handwriting on a necklace, their photo in a locket, or their name and dates on a keepsake for the home. Jewelry suits someone who wants to carry the memory every day; a star map or suncatcher suits a window or a shelf.
What is a good memorial gift for the loss of a mother?
A handwriting necklace made from a card she wrote, or a locket with her photo inside and her name or a short line on the front. Ask the family for a clear photo of her writing, taken flat in daylight; dark ink on light paper engraves most clearly.
What can I write on a memorial gift?
Their name with the years (“Eleanor · 1948–2024”), a phrase they often said, or a short line such as “Forever in my heart” or “Always with me”. Mind the space: 24 characters on the back of the handwriting disc, 16 on the back of the projection heart, 4 lines of 12 on the large locket.
What do you give someone who lost their dog or cat?
A keepsake made from a photo of their pet: a suncatcher for the window they used to watch from, or a framed ornament with their name and dates. Ask the family for the clearest photo of the pet’s face you can get.
When should you send a memorial gift?
Any time it feels right: in the first weeks, on a birthday or anniversary, or before the first holidays without them. For Christmas delivery to Australia, order by Sunday, November 22.
Can you send it straight to them?
Yes. Enter their address at checkout and add a gift-ready box when you personalize it, so it arrives wrapped and ready to give.
Everything here is made to order after you personalize it, in 3–5 business days, and checked by hand against your order before it ships. Shipping to Australia is free and tracked, and takes 7–15 business days once your order is on its way; add a gift-ready box and it arrives ready to give. If we get your personalization wrong, or it arrives damaged, we remake it free. See Shipping and Returns & remakes, or read the FAQ.
